MySuperChoices is a static, informational website. This policy explains what little data is involved in using it, because we believe that's easier to state plainly than to bury in boilerplate.
Our calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter — your balance, your salary, your assumptions — are never sent to us, never stored, and never leave your device. We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts on this site.
What We Collect
As at the date of this policy, MySuperChoices does not run any analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, and does not use cookies. We do not operate accounts, logins, newsletters, or comment sections. The interactive tools on this site — the cost calculator, the suitability quiz, the projection charts — perform all calculations locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you type into them is transmitted to us or to any third party.
If this changes in the future (for example, if we add basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which content is useful), we will update this policy and disclose exactly what's collected and why, in plain language.
Server Logs
Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information for any request to our servers — such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested — for security and operational purposes (for example, detecting abuse or diagnosing outages). This is standard infrastructure-level logging, not something we actively collect or analyse ourselves.
Third-Party Links
Our articles link out to primary sources such as the ATO, ASIC, APRA, and Moneysmart, and to individual super funds' own websites. Once you click through to one of those sites, their own privacy policy applies — we have no visibility into or control over what they collect.
No Financial Advice, No Data-Driven Recommendations
Because we don't collect the inputs you provide to our calculators, we can't (and don't) use your data to build a profile, target advertising, or generate personalised recommendations. Every output you see is calculated fresh, in your browser, from the numbers you typed in — and disappears when you close the tab.
Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, individuals have rights regarding personal information held about them. Because MySuperChoices does not collect or store personal information through normal use of the site, there is generally nothing held about you to access, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold information about you that this policy doesn't account for, or you have a privacy question not answered here, you're welcome to raise it — see our About page for how the site is run.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes, and will describe the change here if it's substantive.
